Hohe Tauern – National park area

Hohe Tauern – National park area

Grossglockner/Heiligenblut | Mölltal Glacier| Ankogel | Emberger Alm

Winter vacation in the Hohe Tauern National Park Region
Four skiing areas, the highest mountains of Austria, sunny views and much more vacation

Wide, gentle ski slopes and a clear range of slopes await families in the ski areas of the Hohe Tauern Ski Region. We offer highly trained children’s ski instructors, cool toddler areas with children’s lifts, family-friendly accommodations and attractive children’s discounts.

The view makes the difference
Enjoy a cappuccino with apple strudel and vanilla sauce at a ski hut and let yourself be enchanted by the view of the fantastic mountain scenery. The Großglockner, the Schareck and the Ankogel, all over 3000 meters high, stand guard for you while you let the winter sun warm you on the terrace of the hut. The south side of the Alps is known for its sunny winter weather.

Quality before quantity
Our skiing areas are clearly arranged and yet varied. Family downhill runs alternate with freeride zones, but carvers and powder fans also get their money’s worth. The ski areas of the Hohe Tauern National Park region with the Mölltal Glacier are the highest in all of Carinthia and thus stand for snow reliability. This is further enhanced by ultra-modern snow facilities. The 4 ski areas offer a total of 29 lifts with 100 km of slopes. Guests can choose between local ski passes or the Top Ski Pass Carinthia East Tyrol for 31 ski areas.

Much more than just skiing
The best way to explore winter nature is on a snowshoe hike with a national park ranger. He knows exactly where the ibexes stay in winter and can also tell you a lot about the life of the animals in the alpine region. A leisurely winter hike is relaxing and lets you forget about everyday life. A tobogganing party with friends or family is fun and the perfect alternative to loud apres ski parties in crowded winter hotspots.
