Ingeborg Bachmann (born 1926 in Klagenfurt, died 1973 in Rome) was one of the most influential authors of German literature after 1945. She spent most of her childhood and youth in the house in Henselstraße in Klagenfurt. Now owned by the state of Carinthia and the state capital Klagenfurt am Wörthersee, the house showcases the life and work of the famous Carinthian writer.
