The native Hüttenberger Prof. Heinrich Harrer became known as a mountaineer, athlete, researcher, geographer, and writer. His numerous travels took him to Tibet, Africa, Borneo and South America. Harder spent seven years in Tibet and became a friend and advisor to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet. The museum displays some 5,000 exhibits of Harrer’s travels.

Tips: Tibet shop and tea room in the museum;

Beautiful garden with a view of the Lingkor, Tibetan prayer path (entry € 2).

Opening hours: May, June, Sept and Oct:
Thu–Sun and holidays: 10 am–5 pm
July and Aug: daily 10 am–5 pm
