Lake Milstatt. The Jewel in Carinthia
Where Lake and Mountains touch.
Between the world of the 3000s in the west and a hinterland interspersed with smooth green grass mountains lies the Lake Milstatt. When the first rays of sunshine touch the gentle waves, the time has come to explore the unspoilt south shore in a rowing boat. With the picnic basket in the boat, take a stroll around the lake, stroke after stroke …
Path of Love. Sentiero dell’Amore.
Looking back, you will admire the green hills of the Nock Mountains. Ruby-red garnet stones decorate the “Path of Love. Sentiero dell’Amore”, a particularly promising section of the Lake Milstaat hiking trail. It leads through seven places—accompanied by seven books that invite the couple to write down common thoughts—from the Alexander hut over the pastures of the Millstatt Alps all the way to the Garnet Gate.
“Steps from everyday life, time together, and days like these on the mountain”, replied Karin and Daniel when asked the question “What gives your love strength?”
Tip: The inspiring stories of the hikers were curated and put together into a pair of books that you can borrow from the Millstatt Abbey Museum.
A Night in the Seven Bivouacs under the Stars. Rifugio sotto le stelle.
In the evening, a motor boat takes you to the restaurant for two in the middle of the lake. And at night, there is a bivouac under the stars reserved just for you. Rifugio sotto le stelle. A total of seven places of retreat for togetherness were set up at the loge seats around Lake Millstatt for you special moments.
