“Where the alpine air blows loud, Pomona’s most beautiful temple stands proud,
where the shore is richly blossomed, and the Lavant wave rushes through the cloud …”
(NB: unofficial translation.)
With these words, the Lavant Valley is described in the Carinthian anthem. Nestled between the Kor Alps and the Sau Alps, the easternmost holiday region of Carinthia is actually one of the most charming valleys in southern Austria.
In total, there are over 1000 km of marked and family-friendly hiking trails to explore the Lavant Valley.
Alternatively, you can also discover the rivers and summits of the Lavant Valley by bike while you enjoy the unforgettable views.
Between “banana apple” (also called American Mother) and haute cuisine, everyone will be able to indulge in their special culinary experience. Inns and restaurants serve exquisite delicacies, while Buschenschanks (wine taverns or Heuriger) and alpine huts invite you to a hearty Lavant Valley snack with apple juice and apple cider as well as the excellent brandies from the region.
Hello in Carinthia and welcome to the holiday region of the Lavant Valley!
