Medieval castle construction site Friesach
At the Burgbauplatz square, young and young at heart take a fascinating journey back in time to the Middle Ages. Here you can admire a castle using medieval methods, without motors and electricity and instead with human and animal power as well as natural building materials. You immerse yourself in the Middle Ages, step out of the everyday narrow, oppressive time schedule and into a „delayed time“ and marvel at the blacksmiths, carpenters, sawyers, stonecutters, bricklayers, and carters at work.
Tips: The oldest city in Carinthia, with the waterbearing city moat and the museum on the Petersberg and refreshment stops on the main square.
