
The Carinthian open-air museum Maria Saal is the oldest museum of its kind in Austria and accommodates peasant houses and farms from the various parts of Carinthia. A total of 38 museum objects from four centuries provide insights into a past rural lifestyle and working methods as well as into the residential and economic habits of bygone times.

BY CAR: from Klagenfurt St. Veiter Str. on the road S37, at the exit 297B Maria Saal turn right, stay on this side of the motorway, and make a sharp right turn after the rail overpass to go on the road L86, then turn left after the Maria Saal town centre.
